Abstract
The use of advanced simulation by power system engineers is increasing rapidly because of the need of developing new powerful technologies to make high performance simulation easier, to implement and also to make possible new studies of power system modeling. An environment that has modeling flexibility to allow modification or addition of new power system models is needed so that power system engineers can quickly get started in testing of new research ideas. In this paper, we present a new Modelica library used with MidFielder program for power system simulations and a new function in MidFielder for power system data conversion to use in Modelica´s environment. Two examples which are for modeling of static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) and superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) are used to demonstrate the capability of this new function.
