  • Abstract
    The frequency behaviors of two kinds of periodic electromagnetic structures have been investigated in this paper. The analysis was conducted by Brillouin diagrams and verified by simulation. The investigation shows that both of the periodic structures can behave as electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structures, right-handed structures (RHS), and left-handed structures (LHS), when they operate in different frequency ranges.
