  • Abstract
An improvedCoefficient of Variation (CV) criterion suppression scheme against frequency sweeping interference named improved Polar Exciser (IMPE) is proposed in DSSS communication systems. The IMPE introduces Coefficient of Variation (CV) criterion to select the PE suppressor or matched filter (MF) correlator. In contrast to original PE, IMPE overcomes the disadvantage of the performance degradation when the power of interference is low. The BER performance has been simulated in suppressing a broadband constant envelope frequency sweeping interference with arbitrary power using proposed IMPE algorithm. Simulation results show the CV is a good metric for selecting PE or MF and the proposed IMPE algorithm is capable of overcoming the threshold effect of original PE.
