Abstract
The authors describe a half-bridge resonant converter with a T-type tank circuit, in which output voltage is insensitive to load variations, and only a very narrow range of switching frequency variation is required for output control. The output impedance reduction effect due to the T-type tank circuit was demonstrated through both simulation and experiment. A prototype resonant converter with a T-type tank circuit was constructed with specifications the same as those of a 150 W pulse-width-modulation (PWM) forward converter and its losses were compared to those of the PWM converter
