Abstract
This paper proposes a criterion for motor selection in mechatronic technology. The use of normalized transmission ratios, velocities, and torques yields a criterion that completely separates the load from the motor characteristics and the feasibility of a certain drive is checked using the graphical representation. The robustness of the motion control included in the paper makes the system more flexible, also the stiffness of the motion, which correspond with the forward gain of the position, is defined to be a good index of robustness
