Abstract
A quicker RANS method incorporated with the nonlinear potential panel method for trimaran total resistance prediction was developed. The wave profile, sinkage and trim were predicted by the nonlinear potential panel method, which then were used as the preconditions of RANS method. The viscous free surface flow solved this way avoided the time-consuming RANS iteration to determine the free surface profile, sinkage and trim. The total calculated results agreed well with the experimental data.
