Abstract
Iterated function systems (IFS) represent or compress an image by exploiting the pixel relationships among pixel values within the image. These relationships include pixel translation, rotation and brightness change. We present an IFS based video compression technique which compensates pixel “motion” between pictures. The advantage of this technique is that it compensates not only pixel translation as in traditional motion compensation techniques but also pixel rotation and brightness changes. In addition, the pixel block size used for motion compensation is adaptive to picture contents
