Abstract
A beam with launched field profile having Gaussian form is a good approximation for field distribution of HE11 mode which is the base oscillation type in quasi-optical hollow dielectric waveguides. The beam scattering from layered structures can be studied by using the complex-source-point method. Paraxial approximation is employed, when beam energy is assumed to be distributed in small angular domain. In this paper we use the standard method of plane-wave Fourier spectrum representation for simulation of propagation and interaction of 3-D beam with a scattering structure.
