  • Abstract
    Data quality is quite significant for management information systems in all fields. However, various data quality problems, from spelling mistakes to complex inconsistencies in semantics, penetrate all over into the systems. The purpose of data cleaning is to detect and eliminate the dirty data and improve the data quality. The data quality problems and the current research results of data cleaning are summarized. In terms of the current management information systems, a universal data cleaning framework based on user model is proposed.
