Abstract
During the first months of 2003, the Venezuelan interconnected power system peak load fell more than 10 % below the maximum of 2002. Furthermore emergency conditions forced to operate at 59.9 Hz steady state frequency, 0.1 Hz below its nominal value. Because of this, it was necessary to check the correct performance of the automatic load rejection and area disconnection system
