Abstract
Constant speed of mobile electrical power sources (EGS) will be soon replaced by optimally controlled variable speed, driving robust permanent magnet generator equipped with power electronics frequency and voltage control. The paper gives short revue of some problems in research and development of optimally variable speed of EGS. The results of modeling and experimental verification EGS with multilevel topology and PWM rectifier shows future trends in that area to achieved the maximum efficiency.
