Abstract
GIS-T Data Model is the base of the applications of ITS. Road feature is the basic unit to express, store and organize road networks. Comprehending the different user requirement at different representation scales, the feature based multi-level data model for road network is proposed. The data model consists of three levels. The Level-1 expresses the topology structure of road network. The Level-2 describes all the linear features in road network, and establishes the topological relationship between roads. The Level-3 takes a lane as a feature, establishes the topological relations between lanes, to describe the traffic regulation in intersections and in lanes. Corresponding relations between features of different levels are established. The experiments prove that the proposed model is feasible and effective.
