Abstract
A study on the cyclist behavior in urban mixed traffic was conducted to determine the behavioral characteristics representative. The study mainly focused on the cyclists´ behavior in urban mixed traffic, including the average speeds and the cyclists´ fuzzy clustering analysis in the roadway, and the behavioral characteristics of group-riding cyclists at the grade crossing. Traffic data were collected by using video cameras from a wide and busying street. The statistical analysis of data was conducted to determine the characteristics of bicycle average roadway´s speeds and clustering analysis of the cyclists. By using the infectious disease dynamical model, the threshold value which determines whether takes place traffic jam or not and the average crossing time at the grade crossing were discovered. The results are useful for the performance of mixed traffic at signalized intersections and provide a new way of controlling and managing the conflicts
