Abstract
The Adaptive Multirate Wideband (AMR-WB) speech codec was standardized by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for providing wideband speech service. DSP has played a dominant role in development of digital speech coding with high clock speed and low power consumption. In this paper, we describe the real-time implementation of AMR-WB speech coder using 16 bit fixed point TMS320C5509 DSP that has dual multiply-and-accumulate (MAC) units
