  • Abstract
In wireless sensor networks, utilizing data fusion techniques reduces overall traffic within the network. A data fusion node aggregates the results of a number of sensors into fusion data. Therefore, the security or assurance of the fusion data is essential. At the same time, increasing the security of a data fusion node increases other factors such as packet overhead and power consumption. A security scheme must be both effective and power-efficient. Several methods of data fusion assurance have emerged, however none has the ability to effectively conserve energy. Therefore, this paper proposes a scheme based on basic silent negative voting method. The proposed scheme reduces the overall time of a voting round and introduces a sleep/wakeup schedule to reduce power consumption of the nodes in the network This scheme is analyzed and compared with the original silent negative voting method to show its performance in overall power savings.
