Abstract
The behavior of erbium-doped superfluorescent fiber source are rather rigorously modeled. Both simulated power and spectral shape are shown to be in excellent agreement with the experimental results for the case of single-pass configuration. The theoretical analyses of the double-pass backward configuration are first presented.
