Abstract

The article introduces an off-line power supply, using the ALTAIR05T-800, an innovative all-primary controller, by STMicroelectronics. Using the proprietary patented all-primary sensing feedback technique, the IC is capable of providing accurate output voltage regulation and tight output current regulation, thus eliminating the need for any secondary side component. The proposed power supply is able to drive a complete power line communication system, providing a precise double output voltage to supply the power line modem and the digital circuitry, included an external microcontroller.
