  • Abstract
The three-component scattering model decomposition based on the scattering mechanisms corresponding to single-bounce, double-bounce, and volume scattering, is one of the powerful tools to classify terrain for fully polarimetric SAR data. However, the conventional scattering component decomposition technique with POLSAR image requires several assumptions to obtain a unique solution. This paper presents scattering component decomposition technique with Pol-InSAR image pair. The proposed technique based on the ESPRIT can decompose without any assumptions when a suitable set of candidates for volume scattering covariance matrix is prepared. In this report, we show the concept of the proposed method with the POL-InSAR image pair and the role of the ESPRIT in the volume scattering estimation. Experimental results of SIR-C/X-SAR are also provided as an example.
