Abstract
Electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) is a fast, low cost imaging technique but offers very low spatial resolution. A modified Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) algorithm for image reconstruction in ECT is presented. To accelerate the convergence rate an additional acceleration term is added to the conventional LM. The method for the optimal step length dynamic calculation is applied. The results of application of these modifications of the LM algorithm for 2D image reconstruction of numerical and real phantoms are presented. The 16 electrodes ETC tomograph was used for real data registration.
