Abstract
This paper discusses the evolution of types of protection schemes for the grid integrated wind farms. When wind farms are connected to the grid then the parameters like transmitted power and relay end voltage fluctuate continuously. Special adaptive schemes are required for the protection in the presence of such varying parameters. Various researchers have tried various techniques to improve protective relay performance in the presence of distributed energy sources.
