Abstract
The thickness effect of the ferrite substrate on the strip line has been studied both theoretically and experimentally. It is found that the second edge guided mode significantly depends on the thickness of the substrate, on the other hand the magnetostatic wave modes with the large wave number strongly depend on the thickness of the substrate. Finally, their theoretical result has been confirmed experimentally. The sharp cutoff behavior in YIG strip line may be useful for a variable notch filter application in the microwave frequency range for the moderate bias field orientation
