Abstract
The results of investigations of interrelation between heart rate variability (HRV) spectral characteristics and other parameters characterizing cardiovascular system condition are presented. The investigation have been implemented in the intensive care unit environment with the use of commercial cardiac monitoring system RITMON, which provides full 24-hour ECG storing and disclosure and calculation of HRV spectral characteristics on the basis of the FFT technique. Analysis of the experimental data from 36 coronary patients showed high prognostic value of HRV spectral characteristics for the prediction of acute myocardial infarction outcome
