Abstract
Two well known algorithmic techniques for analysing chirp and phase coded signals incorporate a shift-conjugate-multiply and a squaring operation respectively. This paper considers the appropriate generalisation of these techniques to a multi-channel sensor array in order to jointly estimate the direction of arrival of a signal and the signal modulation parameters of interest. The resulting algorithms correspond to two variants of a multi-channel generalisation of the ambiguity function. In both cases these quantities are based on the tensor product of the received signal at two points in time. The performance of the estimators is quantified by simulation.
