Abstract
The FABEMD decomposition is a method based on decomposing an image into multiple hierarchical components known as Bidimensional Intrinsic Mode Functions (BIMFs) and residue. In this work we aimed to improve this method. A new robust digital image-watermarking method is proposed, which integrates Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), as well as Fast and Adaptive Bidimensional Empirical Mode Decomposition (FABEMD). In contrast to the traditional methods based on DCT watermarking schemes, in which the watermark is embedded directly on the DCT coefficients of the host image, in the proposed approach, the watermark is embedded in the DCT coefficients of the residue. Thus a better performance in terms of perceptually invisibility and the robustness of the watermark is achieved. Our new method demonstrate a better performance compared to the traditional one.
