Abstract
This paper proposes the gyro-peniotron which is promising as a new high power millimeter-wave source, and reports the results of analysis of this tube using some computer simulations. The analysis assumes two operating conditions
and
for the 35 GHz gyro-peniotron in the TE021 cavity mode. High efficiency 63% is obtained at beam voltage 80 kV and magnetic flux density 13 kgauss in the case of
and also 48% at beam voltage 60 kV and magnetic flux density 4.425 kgauss in the case of
indicating that this tube will be potentially a high efficiency, high power tube.
