  • Abstract
The amount of energy contained in a discharge channel on a polymer dielectric surface, and the spatial range and the order of formation time of this channel are analysed. The distribution of energy inside the channel and that in the outside circuit during the discharge are also studied. A new plasma explosion model is presented, based on the comparison between the density of energy given out in this kind of spark discharge and that in the ordinary explosion. The law of electric strike damage on the polymer dielectric surface caused by the spark discharge plasma and the distribution of stress in the polymer medium under the action of this instantaneous explosion force are studied
