  • Abstract
This paper applies a measurement system based on the two-line method to characterize the temperature-dependent electrical properties of printed circuit board interconnects implemented on six resins. The test vehicle (TV) for each resin consists of two 50-ohm striplines with substantial length difference. The four temperature-dependent electrical parameters, Zo, γ, Dk, and Df, are characterized from -20 °C to 100 °C with 20 °C step. They are extracted from the two-port raw S-parameters, which are measured by vector network analyzer (VNA), of the TVs. The measured electrical parameters cover a frequency band ranges from 100 MHz to 20 GHz. The results indicate that electrical measurements at temperatures other than room-temperature is necessary to characterize completely the electrical performance and temperature stability of PCB interconnects and materials.
