Abstract
Relating to increasing concern for wastes and environmental problems, exhaust gas cleaning and dust suppression are urgent and important issues, especially at incinerators both of municipal and industrial wastes. Bag filtration is substituting now electrostatic precipitation which is used to be a very useful technique for dust suppression at incinerators. However, bag filtration has an accompanying energy consumption problem because of high pressure drop and an environmental contamination problem due to damping (filling) of the used filter into the ground. Therefore, new technologies are requested to be developed for these problems. The authors have investigated to develop effective (less energy consumption and incineratable) filters which are acceptable to our environment, applying an electret into the filter. Incineration of the used filter could be a solution for problems accompanying the land filling
