Abstract
The hybrid pixel detector has recently been introduced in digital radiography. A Monte Carlo simulation was performed with the purpose of comparing the photon counting and energy integration registration strategies, using the detective quantum efficiency DQE. The results were compared with the input screen of an image intensifier. A cascaded model of the hybrid pixel detector is outlined
