  • Abstract
    A new artificial dielectric leaky-wave for the millimeter range is proposed and consequently its radiation characteristics such as beamwidth, beam direction, scanning capability, scan rate, scan angle, gain and efficiency are examined. The investigation is restricted only to uniform antenna for which the propagation constant does not vary along the length of the AD antenna. Electronic scanning of a rodded artificial dielectric is explored. Ferrite is also considered as an embedding medium in which no emphasis has been placed upon the type of the ferrite
