Abstract
Influence of magnet pole section area and slot opening width on the cogging torque in Inset Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine is investigated. The number of 6 poles and 18 stator slots are fixed. The slot opening of the stator is fixed and magnet poles area slotted. Finite element method magnetic are used for computation of Inset-Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine characteristics in this paper. Core saturation in stator and rotor core is directly considered in this study. Axial channels of the rotor core of the Inset-PMSM is considered as well. In our simulation we have found that the by slotting the edge of magnet pole, can reduce the cogging torque of the Inset-PMSM effectively.
