Pixel-based image fusion using fuzzy system

This paper proposed an image fusion method through fuzzy system. In the fusion phase, we perform weighted average of the given images. The weightings are obtained from a fuzzy system incorporated with a rulebase. The inputs of the fuzzy system are the means and standard deviations calculated from a region of the corresponding pixels. With the use of image local properties and the fuzzy system, the fusion performance can be improved.
