Abstract
This paper proposes a novel method, based on a generalized circular transform, to improve the performance of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission in the presence of nonlinear distortions caused by the power amplifier at the transmitter. In particular, by dividing the signal vector into several subvectors, and multiplying with a well-designed generalized circulant matrix, this method may accomplish a large reduction in the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) and a significant improvement in the bit-error-rate (BER) performance of an OFDM system. Moreover, with a suboptimal generation vector, a relatively low computational complexity of the proposed method may be achieved as well.
