Abstract
This paper describes the prevailing architectural style in Tomsk province during the early XX century. Buildings of this period is considered not only as housing resources, but also as buildings having aesthetic value. Besides visually interacting with modern buildings, they participate in the creation of an image of the city environment. The interest of the Tomsk province architecture at the end XIX and at the early XX century was causing that wide construction of pre-revolutionary years and now in many respects defines the face of the central part of the historical cities. The growth of house-building and architectural activity of the architects who worked in town council (the city architects), most actively passed in the early XX century and covered Tomsk, Novonikolaevsk, Barnaul, Busk, Zmeinogorsk, Kamen\´-na-Obi and other cities of Tomsk province. There are several level of professional influence on the architecture of Tomsk province. Architects conducted wide search of new technical and art decisions in the stone construction and especially in the wooden construction traditional for Siberia. In their practice, they actively passed the stylistic and the architecture-composition search which to reflect a wide spectrum of architectural trends of the end XIX and of the early XX centuries. One of such trends was the "art nouveau" style.
