Abstract
The effect of radio frequency interference and intermodulation products have been recognised as one of the main problems for EMC systems designers. A new block coding algorithm called spectral shaping code (SSC) is introduced to the purposes of interference suppression. The SSC has applications in radio, radar, control and navigation systems. The SSC will effectively suppress DC and other unwanted frequency components in the baseband signal whilst being much less complex and expensive than conventional techniques. The rejected frequency components are also adjustable according to the signal spectrum characteristic. A number of examples together with the practical design of these codes is given and a performance comparison with the conventional systems is presented
