Abstract
n-dimensional (n-D) matrix polynomial equations are used to assign the invariant polynomials, and hence also the characteristic polynomial, to general n-D multi-input multioutput (MIMO) systems. MIMO systems are considered that call for matrix (instead of scalar) polynomial equations. n-D systems are then treated, in which case general n-D equations (n>or=2) apply rather than just 2-D ones.
