Abstract
An approximate nonlinear discrete-time model is used to investigate behavior of a switching converter under large-signal and large-parameter variations. The system under study is a current-programmed boost converter with an overall voltage feedback loop. Stability of the desired fixed point is examined using bifurcation analysis supported by numerical results. Characteristic loci of eigenvalues and phase portraits of the system are used to provide better understanding of global and local system dynamics.
