Abstract
The paper deals with the calculation of the electric field (EF) in the vicinity of high voltage overhead transmission lines (TLs). Since analytical formulae cannot be used to calculate the EF in cases when the ground surface under the TLs is not flat or when conducting bodies are located under them, we present the use of FEM for this purpose. The EF distribution has been analyzed for various domestic types of high voltage TLs. A graphical comparison of the electric field intensity one meter above ground level is included
