Abstract
The photodielectric effect (PDE) on ethyl 2,5-di(anilino) terephthalate has been studied. The experimental data could not be explained using a conductance hypothesis. Rather, the formation of polar species in excited states and polar charge carrier traps had to be taken into account. Preliminary results indicate that organic materials seem to be very effective for PDE.
