Abstract
In the paper a new method of bandwidth measurement for light sources emitting broadband spectrum is presented. The method is based on depolarization of partially coherent light which takes place in birefringent crystals. Selected results of bandwidth measurements for halogen lamp, laser diode, superlumminescent diode, and He-Ne gas laser are also presented to underline advantages of the proposed method.
