  • Abstract
    For the upgrade of the Belle detector at the KEKB collider, we are developing a proximity focusing ring imaging Cherenkov detector using aerogel as a radiator. A 144 channel HAPD (Hybrid Avalanche Photo-Detector) is one of the candidates of the photo-detector for this detector. We report the performance of an HAPD sample that was recently delivered. We are also developing an ASIC for the readout of the HAPD. Both the HAPD and the ASIC show good performance to detect a single photon. We have also tried to read the HAPD signal with the ASIC.
