  • Abstract
Our paper presents a new computational algorithm adapted for estimate the electrical circuit parameters. Many ac circuits that are used in practical electronic systems involve resistance, inductive reactance, and capacitive reactance. We suppose a series circuit containing a resistor, an inductor, and a capacitor. Our program is used to calculate the magnitude of the wavelength of a standing electromagnetic wave that is generated by an oscillatory circuit. Next, the program computes the natural frequency of circuit, and the self-inductance. Like resistor and capacitors, inductors are among the indispensable circuit elements of modern electronics. Inductors are the key component of electric protective devices, designed to detect unacceptable conditions in a circuit (for example, a voltage surge or short circuit). Finally, the natural impedance and Q-factor are estimated. We involve the students in using computers as scientific tools for collecting, organizing, analyzing, visualizing, processing, and modeling real data.
