  • Abstract
    A solar system, including Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controller and Texas Instruments´ UC3886 boost converter, is built. The MPPT controller implements the Perturb and Observe algorithm, to obtain the maximum possible output power from the photovoltaic (PV) panel and increase the conversion efficiency. The operation of the entire system in low luminosity conditions is tested. The improvement brought is proven by the experimental results.
