Abstract
Recent research and development of alternative energy sources and their implementation into the power systems have shown excellent potential. Wind Turbine Systems (WTSs), which have important advantages in electricity generation, are one of the alternative energy sources and their incorporation into the power system studies especially load flow analysis is an important issue for realistic analyses. In this study, the effects of static loads on the output characteristics of WTS are analyzed. For this purpose, in this paper, Simulink realization of static loads is provided by using Matlab/Simulink SimPowerSystems Blockset and Developed Simulink model are validated by comparing simulation results with those obtained from load flow analyses. It is observed from analyses that developed model is reliable, and could be effectively used to investigate the system dynamic for various static load models.
