Planning of combined system of radars and CCTV cameras for inland waterways surveillance by using various methods of visibility analyses

Inland waters are a more difficult case in the aspect of sensors networks creation for the needs of VTS systems. This is due to the geometry of the waterway as well as the presence of a number of barriers such as buildings or trees. The effectiveness of the sensors planning can be increased by applying the visibility analysis, both for radar and CCTV cameras. The paper presents the use of different methods of visibility analysis for planning observational sensors.
