  • Abstract
    The development of broadband services is of vital importance for the economic development of every country and it is essential to enable the creation of a knowledge society through broadband services also for Croatia. To facilitate the development of broadband services necessary are large investments in new generation networks (Eng. NGA - Next Generation Access). Next Generation Access Network infrastructure are considered to be the challenge of this generation because it is important today as important were once roads, railways and the availability of electricity. Authors are discussing all the important factors which will influence investment in Next Generation Access and all the factors that should be considered by possible investors and by regulator. With this paper the authors are trying to show in a comprehensive manner all the investment issues related to the Next Generation Access. The paper is organized through five parts including introduction and conclusion. In second part possible financial investments models are given, than in third part the main framework of CAPEX is shown and in the fourth part some important issues regarding investments in NGA are given that will be important for deployment of NGA network in Croatia.
