TensoDentar — Equipment for measuring the extraction force of removable dentures and palatal plates

The paper presents a complex measurement system - called TensoDentar - used for the evaluation of complete dentures and palatal plates dislodging forces. An original strain gauge force transducer and virtual instrumentation in NI and LabVIEW environment are used conforming with a rigorous clinical protocol to evaluate the efficiency of two surface treatments (sandblasting and, respectively, plasma treatment) on complete denture base materials. The first experimental results obtained are presented and interpreted.
