Abstract
Nowadays is a sea pollution major problem especially in terms of tourism, economy and vulnerability of organisms that are an integral part of the marine ecosystem. Marine Pollution Emergency Plans for Oil and/or Noxious Liquid Substances are made if there a risk of pollution exists, County Operations Centre (COC) is responsible to appropriately implement the Plan of Interventions. The task is to implement measures to prevent pollution, and if pollution exist, to implement the Plan of Interventions. In the Republic of Croatia COC operates at the county and intercoumity level, while in Europe Operates EMSA (in terms of control of ships by Port State Control - PSC) and REMPEC (from the standpoint of activities related to the possible and/or actual contamination), with the ultimate goal of preventing maritime accidents that cause pollution of certain scale. Respecting the fact that Croatia is a country where the sea is of great importance of the national economy, particularly for tourism, it is necessary to effectively invest in its protection and to prevent any potential causes of pollution.
