Abstract
A system for the modeling of some human organs and biochemical processes was implemented at the Department of Control Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Eng., CTU in Prague. The main task was to apply computer technology in biomedicine and to improve resources in biomedical investigation. A simulation running under Windows with the support of Matlab was used as a software package. The authors have tried to carry out the first steps to form an open catalogue of models of bioprocesses and biosystems. They processed models for: blood circulation, heart frequency dependence on physical load, baroreflex, respiration, stomach acidity control, kidney function by blood pressure stabilization, isometric contraction of a skeleton muscle, and glycemia control. The system is formed as an open system and allows one to add additional models. It is used in practical lessons in biocybernetics and is available to other universities.
