  • Abstract
Computer networks frequently collapse under destructive intrusions. Detection of hidden intrusions is crucial to protecting computer networks. However, a network intrusion is often very complex, which increases the difficulty of detection. Literature review indicates limited research has been done to address nonlinear dimension reduction in detecting computer intrusions. Hence, the research has proposed a new detection method based on data parsing which is implemented by finite automaton. A lot of data will be parsed to characterize information sequence which represents a variety of network or system activity, making the detection process simple and efficient.
